A single detached house in Northeast Washington DC, taken back to the studs and extended. The structure changed completely. The ownership did not.
Description of services
A gut renovation and addition to a single-family detached home. Usource crews self-performed the work: structural framing in wood, rough and finish carpentry, and the interior rebuilt behind new framing, with an addition extending the original house.
Preserving homeownership
A house that has outrun its systems and its layout can be sold to someone willing to do this work, or the work can be done for the people already living in it. This project was the second. The equity stays with the owner, and the block keeps a household instead of turning one over.
